Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to some of our most commonly asked tattoo questions here.

How do I book an appointment?
You can easily book an appointment with one of our tattoo artists by calling the shop at 250-938-4679, emailing us at evilgeniusartworx@gmail.com, or by simply coming into our shop at 545 B Lawrence Ave, Kelowna, BC V1Y 6LD
Do I require a deposit if I schedule an appointment?
Yes, a deposit is required to schedule a tattoo appointment with an artist. This deposit will be based on the overall projected cost of the tattoo and will be deducted from the total cost of the tattoo in the end.
How much does it cost to get a tattoo in Kelowna?
The cost of getting a tattoo in Kelowna can depend on a number of factors such as how large, extensive, and complex your tattoo might be. Other factors include the experience level of the artist, where junior or apprentice artists will typically charge less (often between $125-$175 per hour), while master artists will usually charge a higher rate (often $200+ per hour)
How can I get a quote on a tattoo?
Speaking in person with one of our tattoo artists is typically the best way to receive an accurate quote. Through this interaction, the artist can learn more about your idea, size, and placement on the skin, as these will all be factors that impact the quoted price.
Can I finance a tattoo?
Yes! We offer flexible payment plans so you get the tattoo you want today without a large upfront cost. To learn more, visit our Payment Plans page.
How can I schedule a walk-in appointment?
As the name implies, walk-in appointments don't require scheduling, however, they are limited by the number of staff available on-site, their current bookings for the day, and the length of time required to complete your tattoo that day. Walk-in tattoos are best suited for smaller and less extensive tattoo work. Large and complex pieces are best to book in advance. We recommend calling the shop to check in walk-in availability before coming down to the shop.
Does it hurt to get a tattoo?
Most tattoos come with some degree of discomfort or pain, however, many find this pain minimal or an exhilarating part of the experience. Certain areas of the body are more sensitive to pain than others due to several factors. Numbing cream can often be applied to the area prior to tattooing, which can help alleviate some of these symptoms. Large, complex, and long periods of time spent in the chair generally involve a higher risk of causing pain and fatigue, however, most tattoos cause minimal discomfort. We recommend speaking with an artist about your unique design to help become more informed on pain management and what to expect.
How long does it take for a tattoo to heal?
Generally speaking, tattoos are mostly healed after two weeks, however, the skin does not typically fully recover for 1-2 months afterwards. We recommend speaking with your tattoo artist who will provide you with post-care instructions so you know what to expect.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, etransfer, debit, and credit.
Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?
It is preferred that you attend your appointment alone, however, you are permitted to bring a guest if you so choose. Please keep in mind though, that your guest is not permitted in the tattoo room for both hygienic reasons and out of respect for the tattoo artist and must remain seated in the front area. If you have any questions, please speak with one of our tattoo artists for further clarification.
